My Trip To Denver

Last Friday, I flew to Denver for the national Court Appointed Special Advocate conference. The San Diego chapter of CASA has a program called The Real Word Panel. It is a panel of teen foster kids that speak in front of large groups about life in the system and how a CASA helps. As a part of this panel, I was chosen along with five others to speak multiple times at the annual conference. We arrived in Denver around eight fifteen pm on Friday night, and checked in to the Sheraton hotel in downtown Denver at nine thirty. The next day, we had a meeting with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of National CASA, Michael Pirano. We discussed the events of the weekend, and what was going to be done. I then mentioned to him that I was writing an article for the San Diego CASA newspaper, and asked him if I could interview him. He said yes. After that, we had some time for sightseeing. Sunday, was the opening of the conference. There was a luncheon, a presentation spoken by our panel, and an awards ceremony banquet. At the banquet, two other panel members and I opened the conference with original written songs and poems. We did this in front of 2,000 people. Monday was supposed to be a free day but we had a last minute luncheon and meeting with other kids from Alaska. We talked about what we were going to do on the following day to close the conference. We decided pretty quickly. We then had some time for fun. Also, it snowed that day. On Tuesday, we closed the conference and everyone left. We flew back to San Diego and arrived at seven thirty, I then got back to campus at eight forty-five. It was amazing.

Fouth Quarter Goals 2009

This quarter in Miss Priester's earn at least a B in academics in both of my classes. In order to do this I will complete all classwork, all homework, and attend all classes as much as possible. Also, this quarter I will earn an A in citizenship in both of my classes. In order to do this I will pay attention in my classes and not horseplay. Lastly I will earn at least a C in all of my classes, to do this I will attended every class possible and complete all missing homework.
